AIKEN, S.C. - Senior Marcie Milner broke her own school record in becoming the first ever Lady Pacer to break the 20:00 barrier as USC Aiken finished a respectable 13th in the 2006 USC Gamecock Invitational on Friday night. The 5K race was held at Fort Jackson's Hilton Field and featured 10 Division I programs. USCA finished ahead of D-I schools South Carolina State and Charleston Southern. 

South Carolina captured the team title with 38 total points. Elon was a distance second with 65 points. Elon's Anna Mae Flynn's time of 18:30 was good enough to win the individual crown, one second better than USC's Casey Gale. 

The College of Charleston was third with 70 points followed by Clemson (106), The Citadel (152), UNC Asheville (185), Mercer (188), Georgia Southern (234), UNC Pembroke (267), and Coker (329) rounding out the top 10. SCAD was 11th with 337 points while Francis Marion placed 12th, just one point in front of the Lady Pacers at 342. 

Milner placed 43rd overall in the 130 runner field, but she was third among Division II runners, just 10 seconds behind UNC Pembroke's Laura Sitze and one tick back of the Lady Braves Katerina Matousova. With her time of 19:57, she breaks her own school mark of 20:08 set last year on September 25 at The Citadel Invitational. 

Senior Jen Mascarin crossed the line in 22:06 to place 90th with sophomore Renea Marshall not far behind in 96th position with a time of 22:26. Sophomore Alley Dachenhaus was 107th at 23:18 while sophomore Mamie Foreman was the Lady Pacers' fifth counting time at 25:49, placing 122nd. Senior Melissa Price came in at 127th with a time of 28:09 in her first race as a Lady Pacer. 

USC Aiken will next compete in the Pre-Conference Meet on Saturday, September 9 in Columbus, Ga.
