Richard Blocker led the Pacers with a game-high 22 points and 11 rebounds. His double double figures were the highs for the evening and helped lead USCA to the 83-74 Clash win. USCA moves to 6-3 overall against the Indians and are 10-7 in the PBC/SAC Clash in its ninth edition.

USCA jumped out in front early in the first half with a 10-0 run, putting the Pacers in front 15-5 just two minutes into the game. Three-point shot by Newberry's Sammy Monroe at 12:30 got the Indians offense going to score five unanswered points. Crawling its way back, Newberry got within two with under six to go in the first half. The Pacers, however, turned it up and went on an 8-2 run, making the score 31-23 with 4:42 on the clock. Newberry bounced back with a 10-4 run on the Pacers and sent the teams into the locker room tied at 39-39.
The Pacers shot out of the gate in the second half with nine unanswered points in the first two minutes of the game. Newberry edged close by cutting the Pacer lead to three with seven minutes left. After a quick 6-0 spurt, the Indians sent USCA to the line. With time running down, the Indians were unable to connect and notched its first lost of the season.
Monroe and Alonzo Hinds led the offense for the Indians posting 19 and 18 points, respectively, and grabbed down a total of eight boards.
Arnold Coates tacked on 11 points and seven rebounds for the Pacers.
USC Aiken's benched stepped up and edged the Newberry bench 49-43.
USCA shot 69.2 percent from the charity stripe and Newberry with 65.4 percent.
Newberry will take on Lander University in game three of the Clash, tomorrow at 5:30 p.m. USCA will host the Blue Hose of Presbyterian following game three; tip-off is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
