Box Score SPARTANBURG, S.C.--Despite a 14-kill, seven-block performance from freshman Mandy Gerolstein, the USC Aiken Lady Pacers (10-5, 0-1 PBC) suffered a 3-1 setback at the hands of the USC Upstate Spartans (6-4, 1-0 PBC) in the Peach Belt Conference volleyball opener for both teams. Game scores were 28-30, 30-18, 30-26, and 30-17. 

Upstate improves to 19-10 all-time against USCA including three-straight victories. 

Gerolstein hit .316 in totaling 18.5 points. Senior Jenny Lloyd tallied 13 kills to go with four blocks, 22 digs, and one ace but hit just .182. She has posted double doubles in kills and digs in all 15 matches this season. 

Veronica Seidle added eight kills and 10 digs while Laura Williams registered seven kills hitting .500. Setter Rachel Dalitz dished out 24 assists and recorded 24 digs. 

Senior Amber Glass paced the Spartans with a match-high 20 kills and 24.5 points. Mandy Rupert added 14 kills and 20 digs while Stephanie Coff chipped in 13 kills and 24 digs. As a team, Upstate hit .310 compared to the Lady Pacers' .179. USC Aiken did out block the Spartans 13.0 to 6.5. 

USC Aiken will travel to Greenwood, S.C. tomorrow for a 3:00 PM conference match with Lander University in Horne Arena. The Lady Pacers are 10-2 all-time versus the Lady Bearcats.
