Box Score AIKEN, SC--USC Aiken (17-14) pounded out 12 runs on 14 hits to defeat the visiting West Virginia Tech Golden Bears 12-4 in non-conference baseball action Thursday night at J.H. Satcher Field. The Pacer pitching staff did not allow an earned run in 18.0 innings, sweeping the two-game series and improving to 7-0 all-time.
Ashley Farr (10) got the Pacers on the board early with a two-run blast in the bottom of the first inning.
Farr smacked the 1-1 offering from
Matt Sosebee over the left field fence to make it 2-0. The reigning Peach Belt Conference Player of the week finished 2-for-4 with two runs scored and two RBI.
USCA tacked on three more in the second, one each in the fifth and sixth innings, and then closed out the game with three in the seventh and two more in the eighth.

Chris Sheehan,
Casey Calhoun,
Mike Cunningham, and
Ian Kowalchuk all tallied two hits each for the Pacers.
Walker tied
Farr for a team-high two RBI while
Kowalchuk's three runs scored was tops on the night.
Paul Ferrell (3-1) went 5.0 innings allowing one unearned run on one hit, striking out three and walking two in the win.

Chad McMurray,
Nick Wandless, and
Gary McAlister combined to give up three unearned runs on three hits, striking out four over the final 4.0 innings in relief.
Sosebee (0-1) picked up the loss for the Golden Bears tossing 5.2 innings scattering nine hits and five walks, striking out six, allowing seven runs, four of them earned.
Jonathan Mitchell and
Marty Wiesler closed out the game for WV Tech.
Brandon Yost,
Justin Withrow, and
Brett Hodgdon each had a hit to lead the Golden Bears while
Withrow and
John Hanson recorded the two RBI.
