Box Score ORLANDO, FLA.--USC Aiken forced 27 turnovers and continued to improve on the offensive end as the seventh ranked Lady Pacers (2-1) won going away over the University of Findlay Oilers (1-2) 75-52 on Sunday in Orlando, FL. With the win, the Lady Pacers captured the Consolation Championship of the Sixth Annual Disney Tip-Off Classic.
The Lady Pacers opened the game strong to take an 11-2 lead at 15:24. Jen Kennedy scored four points and
Julie Szabo hit a three-pointer during that span. Kennedy finished with her second straight double figure outing with 12 points on 5-of-8 shooting. She also added seven rebounds including four on the offensive end. Szabo scored a game-high 22 points on 7-of-15 shooting including 4-of-11 from the three-point line.
As a team, USCA connected on 25-of-54 from the floor (46.3 percent), 6-of-19 from downtown (31.6 percent), and 19-of-21 from the charity stripe (90.5 percent). Meanwhile, the Oilers were held to 38.3 percent shooting including 36.4 from deep and 85.7 percent at the line.
A jumper by
Jami Cornwell with 1:27 left until halftime gave the Lady Pacers their largest lead of the opening frame at 33-16. Cornwell played a solid all-around game with nine points, seven assists, five steals, and three rebounds. USCA rung up 17 steals as a team.
In the second half, both teams started hot out of the gate trading baskets. With 13:47 on the clock, Szabo canned her second triple of the game to push the bulge to 18 for the Lady Pacers. However, over the next 3:44, Findlay strung together an 11-3 run to cut the margin to 10 at 48-38. They were able to stay within 12 for the next few minutes, but USCA was too much down the stretch.
In the closing 3:54, USCA hit 11 straight free throws to win going away 75-52.

Mindy Allee added seven points off the bench.
Zsofia Horvath led the Oilers with 12 points on 5-of-11 shooting and seven rebounds. Lydia Carpenter added seven points and eight rebounds. For the game, the much taller Findlay Oilers, with seven players over six feet, were only able to out rebound the Lady Pacers, with one six footer, 30-29.
USC Aiken will return to Aiken, SC for the Four Seasons Tip-Off Classic on Friday, November 22 when they host Voorhees College at 7:30 PM. The Lady Pacers currently have a 13-game homecourt winning streak which is the seventh longest active streak in Division II.
