AIKEN, S.C. –
Haroon Saleem connected on his sixth shot of the game four minutes into overtime to lift the USC Aiken men's soccer team (1-3-0) past Mount Olive College (NC) 2-1 in the USC Aiken Invitational Tournament. The win is the Pacers' first of the season.
The Pacers got behind early when MOC's Daniel Garris scored seven minutes into the contest. But USCA Struck back later in the first half when
Mamadou Ndoye combined on a header from
Paul Okumu.
Saleem and Ndoye combined for 11 of USC Aiken's 19 shots. The Pacers outshot the Trojans a remarkable 19-6.
Peter Calabrese completed three saves for USCA.
In earlier tournament action, North Georgia ousted Anderson 5-1. The tournament continues Sunday with games from all four teams.
