AIKEN, S.C. - The USCA men's soccer team lost a 4-1 decision to No. 15 North Georgia Saturday afternoon.
The Pacers are now 3-6 overall, including 2-5 in PBC play.
Head coach
Nick Sakiewicz's team nearly got on the board in the 16
th minute, but
Carlos Colomer's shot was turned away. USCA continued pushing forward and broke through with a goal by
Daniel Dalehaug, giving the home squad a 1-0 lead.
Sean Simoncelli turned away the Nighthawks with a save at the 34:48. However, UNG knotted the score just 17 seconds before halftime.
Trailing 2-1 in the second half,
Alvaro Corcuera posted a shot in the 68
th minute of action, but it was blocked.
Carlos Colomer's attempt at the 73
rd minute of work was wide of the frame.
The Pacers continued pushing forward and
Aloni Elfu had a shot on goal in the 79
th minute, but a save by the keeper kept the contest at a one-goal margin.
Two late goals by the Nighthawks provided the final score.
For the match, Dalehaug recorded a goal. Colomer and Elfu had two shots apiece in the loss.
Simoncelli played 45 minutes between the pipes and had three saves.
Dikola Douglas saw 45 minutes in goal and had a save.
