Pacers Shut Out By No. 14 Clayton State

AIKEN, SC--In the Peach Belt opener, Warren van der Westhuizen stood firm in goal to lead #14 Clayton College & State (2-0-0, 1-0-0) past the Pacers (0-2-0, 0-1-0) 2-0 Wednesday night.  USCA hasn't defeated the Lakers since 1997.

The Pacers out-shot CCSU 15-12, but they did not convert as ver der Westhuizen made seven saves on the night. They also registered five corner kicks to the Lakers' three.

Peter Calabrese (Spring Hill, FL) made five save for USCA, but the Lakers' converted on two goals by Barry Casebeer and David Dowling.

Peach Belt All-Conference forward Richard Wolf (Deer Park, TX) was not active for the Pacer's due to an ankle injury.

USCA now gets set for this weekend's Pacer Invitational Tournament. They will host North Georgia, Anderson College and Mount Olive Saturday and Sunday in the Pacer Pit.  Aiken's first game will be against Mount Olive at 7:00 PM Saturday.
