AIKEN, S.C. - University of South Carolina Aiken volleyball standout Kassy Johannsen has been named the USC Aiken Athletic Department Student-Athlete of the Week for the 2016-17 athletic year ending Oct. 23, 2016.

Johannsen, a senior from Broomfield, Colo., guided the Pacers to a 3-0 week, including victories over the top two teams in the Peach Belt Conference.

For the week, Johannsen tallied 25 kills. She led USC Aiken with 12 blocks, including a key one late in the fifth set against Flagler. Johannsen hit .315 for the week, had nine digs and registered a pair of aces.

She hit .429 at Georgia College, tallying six kills and three blocks. Against the Saints, Johannsen posted 10 kills and five blocks before finishing the weekend with nine kills and four blocks against the Pirates.

Johannsen currently leads the team with 58 total blocks, including seven solo stops.

The USC Aiken Athletic Department Student-Athlete of the Week honors one student-athlete each week from an in-season sport for their hard work and effort.
