AIKEN, S.C. – USCA men's basketball standout
Jalen McCoy has been named the South Carolina Education Lottery Student-Athlete of the Month for December.
McCoy, a redshirt-senior from Raleigh, N.C. guided the Pacers to a 3-1 month.
He averaged a team-high 18.5 points during the four games. Additionally, McCoy connected on 31-of-59 shots from the floor (52.5 percent). He accounted for five rebounds a game. Additionally, he had five assists, three blocks and three steals.
In the win over Livingstone, McCoy poured in 31 points on 13-of-20 shooting from the floor. He drained five-of-six from the charity stripe and snagged seven boards. After a nine-point, six-rebound effort at Lander, McCoy tallied 14 points and three assists in the win over Fayetteville State.
In the final game of 2024, he poured in 20 points on eight-of-12 shooting in just 21 minutes in the victory at Francis Marion. McCoy pulled down five boards, had two assists, two steals and a block.
For the year, McCoy leads the squad with 21.6 points per game and is connecting on 57.7 percent of his shots from the field.
The South Carolina Education Lottery USCA Athletic Department Student-Athlete of the Month award honors one student-athlete each month from an in-season sport for their hard work and effort. Each month during the 2024-25 athletic year one winner will be chosen from an in-season sport.
