University of South Carolina Aiken softball standout Courtney Strauss has been named the Hutson-Etherredge Companies and Auto-Owners Insurance USC Aiken Athletic Department Student-Athlete of the Week for the week ending Feb. 18, 2018.

Strauss is a sophomore from North Augusta, S.C.

The North Augusta H.S. product had an outstanding week. She hit .583 and ripped off a team-best seven hits in 12 at bats. Strauss led the team with five runs scored, seven hits, three doubles, one triple, four RBI and 12 total bases.

Strauss had a 1.000 slugging percentage and boasted a .643 on-base percentage while drawing her first career intentional walk. In the outfield, she had three putouts and a pair of assists.

In the opener against Lees-McRae, she was a homer short of the cycle, registering a single, double and triple. Strauss drove in two and scored two. In the nightcap, she posted two hits, three RBI and scored two runs.
