AIKEN, S.C. – The Hutson-Etherredge Companies and Auto-Owners Insurance USCA Student-Athlete of the Week is men's basketball standout Caleb Byrd.

A native of Mauldin, S.C., Byrd had a solid week for the Pacers.

In two games, Byrd averaged 22 points and five rebounds. Against Emmanuel, he netted 23 points on eight-of-17 shooting, including four-of-11 from downtown. Byrd hit all three charity tosses, snagged four boards, had an assist and recorded a steal.

In the PBC game at Lander, he connected on six-of-12 shots from the floor, including three-of-six from distance. Byrd also buried six-of-eight shots from the charity stripe. He pulled down six rebounds and dished out an assist.

For the year, Byrd accounts for 18.4 points and 5.5 rebounds a game. He's hit 44.9 percent of his shots from the floor, including 44.6 percent from deep. Byrd's also drained 82.6 percent of his free throws.
