AIKEN, S.C. – University of South Carolina men’s basketball standout Xzavier Barmore has been named the South Carolina Education Lottery USC Aiken Student-Athlete of the Month for December.
Barmore, a native of Seneca, S.C., guided the Pacers to a 5-0 month.
He accounted for a team-best 16.4 points per game, notching double figures in each contest. Barmore connected on 37.2 percent of his shots from the floor, including a team-high 34.2 percent from downtown.
He led the team with 27 assists and was second on the squad with 16 steals. For good measure, Barmore pulled down 3.8 rebounds a contest.
In the win over Georgia Southwestern, he poured in 21 points, had four rebounds and registered three steals. At Columbus State, Barmore netted 21 points and had four assists, including one on the go-ahead basket with 20 seconds to play.
He established a school-record 14 assists to go along with 12 points in the victory over Paine. Barmore tallied 18 points and six rebounds in the victory at Clayton State before registering 10 points, five assists and three steals in the win at Georgia College.
The South Carolina Education Lottery USC Aiken Athletic Department Student-Athlete of the Month award honors one student-athlete each month from an in-season sport for their hard work and effort. Each month during the 2018-19 athletic year one winner will be chosen from an in-season sport.
