MCCORMICK, S.C. – The No. 15 USCA golf team is in first place after the opening day of the Savannah Lakes Men's Invitational, which is hosted by Lander.

The Pacers shot 30-under par, 546. USCA opened the tournament by shooting 13-under par, 275, before firing a second-round 17-under par, 271. 

Head coach Michael Carlisle's team was led by Cameron Baez's 11-under par, 133. He is in first place and holds a two-stroke lead over teammate Jan Sustek and Wingate's Finn Ellis.

Sustek is tied for second after shooting nine-under par, 135. Mitchell McNeill and Ian Williams are tied for eighth. Both shot five-under par, 139, on the first day. Olivier Van Goor is tied for 43^rd at one-over par, 145.

Baez shot six-under par, 66, through the first 18 holes of play. He notched four birdies and had an eagle on the par-five, 534-yard No. 11. McNeill shot four-under par, 68, during the first round of action. 

Sustek posted a two-under par, 70, during Monday's opening round. Williams opened the season by shooting one-under par, 71, while Van Goor shot even-par, 72. He birdied the ninth hole, which was a 517-yard par five.

During the second round of action, Sustek tied for the lowest score of the tournament by any competitor. He shot seven-under par, 65. Sustek notched six birdies, an eagle and a bogey. 

Baez shot five-under par, 67 while Williams shot four-under par, 68, during the second round of competition. McNeill shot one-under par, 71, while Van Goor accounted for a one-over par, 73.

No. 14 North Georgia is second at 16-under par. Erskine is third at 15-under par while No. 6 Wingate (-14) and Georgia College (-12) complete the top five teams in the 18-team tournament.
