HARTSVILLE, S.C. – The USCA volleyball team recorded victories over Valdosta State and Saint Leo by identical scores of 3-0 Friday afternoon at the Coker Cobra Classic.
The Pacers are now 2-0 on the season.
Against Valdosta State, head coach

Alli Bishop's 13-kill, 10-dig double-double effort.
Olivia Miller hit .667 with seven kills while
Lexi Rogers added five kills.
Avery Pearson served up five aces while
Bailey Corrigan led the defense with 13 digs.
Olivia Moffett had seven assists and a pair of kills while
Madison Fox dished out a match-high 17 assists.
Kira Bostick chipped in nine digs and four assists.
Trailing 3-2 in the opening frame, Corrigan started a 4-0 spurt with a kill. Up 5-3, Bishop slammed home a pass from Fox for a point. Holding a 7-6 edge, the Pacers embarked on a 5-0 run, doubling up the Blazers 12-6. Moments later, Miller posted a kill before Moffett stuffed an attempt for a 23-14 edge en route to the 25-15 win.
The second stanza saw USCA jump out to a 9-1 lead and never look back. Bishop had three kills during the run and Pearson added an ace. Pearson's kill pushed the advantage to 14-5. Rogers' point gave the Pacers a 19-9 lead and two miscues by VSU pushed the score to 21-9. Miller took a pass from Fox for the final point in the 25-12 victory.
The third frame was tightly contested. Down 13-8, Miller had a kill. Miller slammed home a pass from Moffett before Moffett found the court for a point. An attack error by the Blazers made it 13-12. Trailing 16-14, Bishop hammered home a pass from Fox before Pearson served up two aces. Fox had a kill and Pearson sliced the defense for two more aces, giving the squad a 21-16 edge. Up 22-19, Miller started a 3-0 run to finish the match. Rogers served the final two points, including an ace for a 24-19 lead.
For the match, USCA posted 33 kills and hit .290. The team dished out 28 assists and had six aces. The squad tallied three solo blocks and eight block assists.
Against Saint Leo, USCA took a commanding 7-1 lead behind multiple kills from Rogers and Fox. Up 13-6, Corrigan took a pass from Moffett for a point. Leading 16-8, Bishop hammered home a kill. Moments later,
Chloe Duzenack found the court for a point, making it 19-9. With the score 24-14, Duzenack finished off the frame with a kill.
The back-and-forth second frame was knotted at 7-7 before a kill from Corrigan and an error by the designated visitors. Down 13-12, Miller registered a point and Bishop followed it up with another kill, making it 14-13. Up 16-15, Pearson sliced the defense with a kill. Leading 17-16, Bishop notched back-to-back points off passes from Fox, forcing a time-out. The Lions pulled within one at 24-23, but Moffett connected with Corrigan for the kill and two-point victory.
Trailing 3-0 in the third stanza, two errors by Saint Leo and kills from Rogers and Bishop gave the Pacers a 5-3 margin. Up 9-8, Miller slammed home back-to-back kills for a three-point cushion. Points from Corrigan and Bishop, along with an error by the opposition, propelled the Pacers to a 16-12 advantage. USCA extended the lead to seven, 21-14, after two miscues from Saint Leo and a block from Bishop and Miller. A few plays later, Miller took Moffett's pass and found the court for the final point, 25-19.
For the match, Bishop led the way with a career-high 15 kills. Miller added eight kills and two blocks while Rogers accounted for eight kills and seven digs. Corrigan notched seven kills and 10 digs while Fox posted a double-double with 12 assists and 12 digs. Bostick dished out 10 assists and added seven digs to go along with two aces. Moffett posted a match-best 15 assists.
The team hit .406 in the opening frame before hitting .333 in the final two sets. USCA hit .356 as a team and notched 47 kills.
