ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. – The No. 14 USCA golf team moved up three spots and stands in a tie for second place after the second day of competition at the PBC Championship.
Through two rounds of play, head coach
Michael Carlisle's team is at 10-over par, 586. The squad is tied with Columbus State. Georgia Southwestern leads the field at one-over par, 577. The host Flagler Saints are fourth (+16, 592) while USC Beaufort is fifth (+19, 595). North Georgia (+28, 604), Lander (+39, 615) and Georgia College (+63, 639) round out the field.
USCA put together the best round of the day between the eight teams by shooting four-over par, 292. The Hurricanes had the second-best round (nine-over par, 297) while the Cougars shot 10-over par, 298. The three teams were the only ones to break 300.
Ian Williams climbed 24 spots in the rankings after shooting three-under par, 69.
Cameron Baez's even-par, 72, helped him leap 14 spots. The two are tied for third place. Williams accounted for four birdies and an eagle during the round while Baez notched three birdies.
Mitchell McNeill is 11
th after 36 holes. He fell eight spots after shooting seven-over par, 79. His lone birdie occurred on No. 2.
Karl Frisk moved up 11 spots after shooting one-over par, 73. He is tied with
Hugo Boyer for 28
th place. Boyer recorded a six-over par, 78, Monday. Frisk's lone birdie of the afternoon occurred on the par-five, No. 14.
