AIKEN, S.C. – The USCA softball team scored five runs in the first inning and delivered a 5-0 victory over Augusta Friday evening.
The Pacers are now 24-18 on the season, including 8-8 in PBC play.

Jaclin Poole's team pushed across five runs in the bottom of the first inning.
Peri Rouillard singled and took second on a passed ball.
Autumn Fisher struck out but reached first on a passed ball before stealing second. With one down,
Madilyn Rouse singled up the middle, plating two.
Chloe Webb singled and stole second, putting two in scoring position.
Kaylee Bolding doubled to center field for a 4-0 lead. Two batters later,
Mollie Rollings roped a single to left field. Bolding raced around third and slid in under the tag for a 5-0 cushion.
Fisher registered a one-out single in the second. She quickly stole second and moved to third on a groundout, but the defense made a sensational grab on a line drive, saving a run. Fisher was once again the offensive catalyst in the fifth frame. Looking at a 3-1 count, she blasted a triple to center field, but USCA was unable to drive her home.
Abbie Kegley's no-hit bid ended in the top of the sixth. With two on, Fisher took a ground ball and flipped it to Bolding for the final out of the inning. AU had a runner on third in the seventh, but Kegley forced a grounder. She fielded it and calmly tossed it to first base for the final out of the contest.
For the game, Fisher led the way with two hits, including a triple. Bolding, Rollings, Rouillard, Rouse and Webb also posted hits. Bolding and Rouse drove in two apiece.
In the circle, Kegley delivered a two-hit shutout. She had six strikeouts in the victory.
