Fisher Launches Two Home Runs In 10-Inning Victory At Flagler

ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. – Behind two home runs from Autumn Fisher and one from Kate Newberry, the USCA softball team clinched the series at Flagler with a 6-5 10-inning victory.

The Pacers are now 15-10 on the season, including 2-1 in PBC play.

Head coach Jaclin Poole's team jumped on top when Fisher crushed an offering over the right center field wall in the top of the first for a 1-0 lead.

Tied at 1-1 in the fourth, Chloe Webb belted a pitch into right center field for a double. Two batters later, Lydia Johnson laid down a bunt single through the right side, pushing across Webb for a one-run edge.

Up 2-1 an inning later, Peri Rouillard was hit by a pitch on a 3-0 count. Fisher promptly blasted another round -tripper for a three-run cushion. Newberry followed it with a homer two pitches later for a 5-1 margin.

The Saints managed to knot the score at 5-5 after plating three runs in the fifth and one in the sixth. Neither team could score in the seventh, forcing extra innings.

The score remained knotted until the top of the 10th. Webb belted a double to right center field and scored on Kaylee Bolding's double down the left field line for a 6-5 advantage.

With two on in the bottom of the 10th, Abbie Kegley struck out a batter after falling behind 3-0. Then, she forced a groundout to Bolding to clinch the series.

For the game, Johnson led the way with three hits and one RBI. Fisher pounded out two home runs and drove in three. Bolding and Webb also had two hits. Both of Webb's base knocks went for doubles. Newberry had a home run while Bolding and Madilyn Rouse had doubles.

In the circle, Claire Radford tossed 2.2 innings and had two strikeouts. Kegley worked 7.1 innings of relief with four strikeouts to get the victory.

The Pacers return to action Friday when they travel to No. 4 North Georgia at 6 p.m. Live stats and video will be available at PacerSports.com.
