AIKEN, S.C. – The USCA baseball team finished the sweep of Claflin on Sunday with a 18-2 victory on Senior Day as
Yariel Diaz tied a pair of school records.
The Pacers are now 25-9 on the season, including 13-5 in PBC play.
Diaz tied the school record for hits in a game with five. Four of the hits went for doubles, also tying a 27-year old school record.

Keith Gorman's team took an early 1-0 lead.
Chancellor Jennings drew a walk with one down and moved to second on Diaz's base hit to left field. Two batters later,
Salvatore Laimo walked before
Maverick Grigsby roped a single to left field, making it 1-0. Claflin had the bases loaded with one away in the second, but back-to-back fly ball outs kept the visitors off the board.
USCA extended the margin in the second.
Donovan Glisson was hit by a pitch and took second on
Osmin Melendez's well-placed sacrifice bunt.
Evan Harding's single plated Glisson. Two batters later, Diaz doubled Harding to third base. After an intentional walk to
Blake Martin, Laimo recorded a base hit up the middle, knocking in Harding and Diaz. Grigsby singled in Martin before
Joshua Johnson doubled in two more for a 7-0 lead.
Back-to-back doubles by Jennings and Diaz in the third pushed the margin to 8-0. Laimo led off the fourth with a walk and stole second with one down. After a walk to
Joshua Johnson, Glisson smacked a double to left center field, extending the margin to 10-0. Melendez and Harding were hit by pitches and Jennings lifted a sacrifice fly, driving in Glisson. Diaz's double to left field allowed Melendez and Harding to cross home for a 13-0 edge.
Claflin plated two runs in the top of the sixth, but USCA responded in the bottom of the frame. Diaz belted his fourth double of the day to right center field, driving in Melendez and Jennings. Martin singled home Jennings. Laimo's triple cleared the bags, giving the Pacers an 18-2 lead.
For the game, Diaz went five-for-five with four doubles, four RBI and two runs scored. Grigsby had three hits, drove in two and scored. Jennings and Laimo each had two hits, including one extra-base knock apiece. Laimo drove in four runs while Jennings and Laimo each scored three times. Glisson and Johnson had two RBI apiece. Glisson and Melendez each crossed home twice.
On the mound,
Kerry Herndon-Brown worked 1.1 innings and had a strikeout.
CJ Lincoln tossed 2.2 frames and had four strikeouts.
Dylan Dickert tallied two strikeouts in a scoreless frame.
Nick Napolitano threw an inning while
Luke Norman tossed the seventh and had a strikeout.
