Pacers Drop Series To Bobcats

AIKEN, S.C. – The USCA softball team lost a pair of games to Georgia College & State University Saturday afternoon by scores of 11-1 and 1-0.

The Pacers are now 21-17 on the season, including 5-7 in PBC play.

Head coach Jaclin Poole's team trailed 2-0 entering the bottom of the second inning. With one down, Madilyn Rouse rocketed a triple to right field. Two batters later, Kaylee Bolding laid down a bunt, allowing Rouse to cross home.

The Bobcats pushed across four runs in the fourth and five in the seventh for the 11-1 win.

For the game, USCA had four hits. Bolding's hit drove in Rouse. Kate Newberry and Chloe Webb also had base hits in the contest.

In the circle, Ally Fleming worked 4.2 innings and had two strikeouts. Abbie Kegley worked 2.1 innings of relief and had a strikeout.

Game two saw the Bobcats push across a run in the second inning.

In the third, Anna Turner singled and moved to second when Rouillard reached on a fielding error. However, she was erased on a double play.

Rouse drew a walk in the fourth and hustled to second on Lydia Johnson's base knock. Kaylee Bolding singled to left field, but Rouse was thrown out at home.

Johnson posted a lead-off single up the middle in the seventh, but she was left stranded.

For the game, Johnson posted a pair of hits. Bolding, Fisher, Newberry and Turner each had base knocks.

In the circle, Kegley went the distance and took the loss. She had three strikeouts.
