USCA Drops Doubleheader To No. 5 North Georgia

DAHLONEGA, Ga. – The USCA softball team dropped both games of the doubleheader at No. 5 North Georgia by scores of 10-0 and 6-0.

The Pacers are now 15-13 on the season, including 2-4 in PBC play.

Head coach Jaclin Poole's team saw Autumn Fisher post a one-out single to center field in the first. She moved to second on a groundout, but was left stranded in scoring position.

The Nighthawks pushed across a run in the first and five in the second for a 6-0 lead.

Gracie Walker led off the third with a walk. Two batters later, Peri Rouillard drew a base on balls, putting two on. However, back-to-back outs ended the stanza.

Chloe Webb drew a lead-off walk in the fourth. However, back-to-back teammates reached on a fielder's choice, leaving Anna Turner on second with two away. Madison Rogers was hit by a pitch to put two on, but another fielder's choice ended the frame.

For the game, Fisher and Rouillard had hits.

In the circle, Ally Fleming threw a complete game and had a strikeout.

Game two saw UNG take a 3-0 lead in the first inning. Poole's team tried to get on the board in the second. Webb reached on a single up the middle before taking second on a sacrifice bunt from Kaylee Bolding. She moved to third on a pop-up but was left stranded on a fly ball.

Rouillard recorded a two-out single in the third, but a pop fly ended the inning.

Alexis Stout was hit by a pitch in the top of the fifth. Karlie Kemper entered as a pinch runner and moved to second on Gracie Walker's sacrifice bunt. Back-to-back outs ended the stanza.

Rouillard posted a lead-off single to right field in the sixth, but three straight outs concluded the inning.

Trailing 6-0 in the seventh, Stout singled and Walker drew a base on balls. However, USCA was unable to push across a run.

For the game, Rouillard had a pair of base hits. Stout and Webb each had one.

In the circle, Claire Radford got the start and worked four innings. She had a pair of strikeouts. Abbie Kegley threw two innings and had one strikeout.
