AIKEN, S.C. – The USCA volleyball team lost a 3-0 decision to Flagler Saturday afternoon in the PBC opener.
The Pacers are now 5-6 on the season, including 0-1 in league play. The Saints stand at 6-9 overall and 1-0 against PBC teams.

Glenn Cox's team was led by
Anna Sommer's eight-kill, three-block performance.
Alli Bishop totaled seven kills and two blocks while
Avery Pearson slammed home six kills while hitting .385.
Lexi Rogers notched five kills while
Chloe Duzenack and
Bailey Corrigan added three kills apiece.
Sidney Hogan posted 19 assists while
Madison Fox contributed 10.
Kira Bostick led the defense with 10 digs while Corrigan and Rogers added eight and six, respectively.
After dropping the first set 25-10, Cox's team took an early 3-1 lead in the second stanza behind a kill from Pearson. Two plays later, Pearson made it 4-2 off a pass from Hogan. Down 7-6, Corrigan and Bishop notched back-to-back kills. Tied at 8-8, Bishop started a 3-0 spurt for an 11-8 advantage. Trailing 18-17, an error by the visitors, along with a kill from Rogers and an ace from Hogan pushed the Pacers in front, 19-18. USCA tied it at 23-23 off a kill from Pearson, but the Saints scored the final two points.
The back-and-forth third frame saw Sommer tie the set at 10-10. Down 21-18, Rogers hammered home a kill and a miscue by Flagler pulled the Pacers within one, 21-20. Trailing 22-20, Pearson garnered a kill and an error by the visitors tied the set. However, the Saints rattled off the final three points for the win.
For the match, USCA hit .158 and registered 35 digs.
