USCA Notches Road Win At Erskine

DUE WEST, S.C. – The USCA men's soccer team cruised to a 3-1 victory at Erskine Saturday afternoon.

The Pacers are now 3-1-1.

Head coach Nick Sakiewicz's team continued its outstanding start to the season while picking up its first road win of the season.

Just 9:44 into the first period, Lucas Gomes found Kenny Kwizera Jr. He promptly rocketed the pass past the keeper for a one-goal advantage.

USCA maintained the offensive pressure in the period and it paid off in the 25th minute. Rafael Kawata connected with Samuel Mitchell for the score, pushing the margin to 2-0.

The high-octane offense continued with Rainier McKinzy II as he blasted a shot past the keeper at the 32:31 mark for the 3-0 lead.

The score remained the same until the Flying Fleet found the back of the net at the 78:00 mark.

For the match, Felipe Mattos played all 90 minutes between the pipes and had a pair of saves.

The squad recorded seven shots – all of which were on goal. USCA earned six corner kicks in the victory.

Kwizera Jr., Mitchell and McKinzy II all had goals while Gomes and Kawata tallied assists. Finlay Dyer, Riad Zitouni, Ayoub Ben Amar and Joao Kuwakino all notched shots on goal in the road win.

The Pacers return to action Wednesday when they host Georgia Southwestern for a 7 p.m., match. Live stats and video will be available at PacerSports.com.
