AIKEN, S.C. – The USCA volleyball team lost a 3-2 contest to UAH Thursday afternoon.
The Pacers are now 4-4 on the season.

Glenn Cox's team was led by
Anna Sommer's 14 kills and three blocks.
Lexi Rogers totaled 11 kills and 10 digs for a double-double.
Alli Bishop and
Tucker Patterson had seven kills apiece.
Sidney Hogan garnered a double-double with 24 assists and 12 digs while
Madison Fox distributed 20 assists to go along with nine digs.
Kira Bostick amassed 22 digs while
Ana Cate Loftus totaled 15 digs.
Avery Pearson notched five blocks in the match.
UAH took an early 9-8 lead, but Loftus knotted things up. Tied at 11-11, an error propelled USCA to the advantage. Sommer served up an ace for a two-point cushion. A point from Patterson and an error by the Chargers pushed the margin to 15-12. The tightly contested set saw the Pacers snag a one-point edge on a kill from Sommer, 20-19. However, a 5-1 run by UAH allowed the visitors to take a 1-0 lead.
Rogers gave USCA a 6-5 advantage in the early going of the second stanza. Moments later, Bostick's ace gave the home team a 9-8 edge. Down 16-12, Patterson slammed home a pass from Hogan before Pearson and Rogers teamed up for a block. Trailing 20-18, Sommer found the court for a point before the dyad of Bishop and Rogers thwarted an attempt by the Chargers. After a time-out, Sommer powered home a pass for the kill. Another Bostick ace forced another time-out by the visitors. Patterson slammed home a kill and an error by UAH allowed USCA to knot the match at 1-1.
An error gave the Pacers a 10-9 lead in the third stanza. Bostick served up an ace and Sommer slammed home a kill for a four-point cushion. Holding a one-point margin, Sommer registered a point before two errors by the Chargers extended the advantage to 18-14. A block from Bishop and Pearson gave the home team a 22-17 lead. At 24-23, Loftus and Sommer combined for the set-winning point.
After dropping the fourth set, the visitors jumped out to a 10-3 lead in the fifth and deciding set on the way to the win.
For the match, USCA totaled 52 kills. The squad recorded 78 digs.
