AIKEN, S.C. – The USCA baseball team lost a 6-1 decision to Augusta Saturday afternoon in the second game of the three-game series.
The Pacers are now 17-24 on the season, including 7-13 in PBC play.
Head coach
Michael Holder's team fell behind 1-0 in the top of the first. However, USCA kept the opposition at just a one-run margin.
The Pacers tied it up in the fourth.
Brody Yeomans took the first pitch he saw through the right side of the infield for a base knock. After
Jack Hobson was hit by a pitch,
Kaden Usry reached on an error to load the bags.
Tyler Casciato lifted a sacrifice fly to center field as Yeomans crossed home, tying the score at 1-1.
AU managed to score three runs in the seventh and two in the ninth for a 6-1 advantage.
For the game, Sharp had two base hits while Yeomans had one. Casciato drove in Yeomans for the team's lone run of the contest.
On the mound,
Logan Wise got the start and limited the Jaguars early. He wrapped up his day with four strikeouts in six innings. He gave up four runs on five hits.
Charles Herring, Jr., entered in relief and worked two-plus frames.
Damien Ashley had two strikeouts in the ninth stanza.
