After trailing by 17 at the 9:23 mark of the opening frame, USCA went on a 26-13 run to close out the period. Cunningham hit a twisting lay-up, and Rubel buried a three-ball to make it 26-14. An 8-0 spurt by USCA to start the second half propelled the squad to a 43-39 edge. German made a jumper while McCoy canned back-to-back shots. Blackwell and Grant each made free throws for the four-point margin.

Down 47-46, McCoy hit a free throw and Byrd converted a lay-up. McCoy found Delva for a dunk at the 12:36 mark for a 51-47 lead. Moments later, Byrd hit two baskets for a 57-52 advantage with 9:40 to play.

McCoy tied the game at 63-63 on a hook shot, but the Bobcats responded with five straight points. A pair of charity tosses by Cunningham made it 68-67 with 1:23 to play. However, GCSU netted four free throws for a 72-67 edge.

McCoy answered with a three-point shot off a pass from Perkins with 10 ticks to play, bringing the Pacers within two at 72-70. USCA was forced to foul and the Bobcats made one-of-two. Vanderslice's team had a last-second attempt to tie it, but the team was unable to connect.
