AIKEN, S.C. – The USCA women's soccer team played to a 1-1 draw with Lander Wednesday evening in a PBC clash.
The Pacers are now 5-3-2 on the season, including a 2-2-1 ledger in PBC play.
Head coach
Adam Kleman's team was led by
Samantha Koneval's match-tying goal.
Greta Ohlwein's attempt six minutes in was thwarted by the keeper.
Ellie Thompson placed a shot on goal in the 20
th minute. Ohlwein tallied another shot on goal in the 33
rd minute before
Ashtyn Ivey had an attempt blocked three minutes later.
After a scoreless first half, Kleman's team had a shot on goal at the 46:27 mark via
Shy Iles, but it was saved.
Down 1-0,
Ashtyn Ivey crossed the ball to the far post. Koneval promptly blasted the ball past the new keeper, knotting the score at 1-1.
Late in the match, USCA had a pair of corner kicks, but neither resulted in a shot. Kleman's squad fought off a last-second free kick into the box, securing the tie.
For the match,
Savannah Yerger had 11 saves.
USCA had seven shots, with one being on goal. The team earned five corner kicks.
