MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. – The USCA women's soccer team lost a 1-0 decision at Georgia College & State University Saturday afternoon.
The Pacers are now 5-4-2 on the season, including 2-3-1 in PBC play.
Head coach
Adam Kleman's team had a golden opportunity after a foul just outside the box in the sixth minute. However,
Greta Ohlwein's attempt narrowly missed left of the post.
Down 1-0 late in the first half,
Ellie Garces missed high. In the 34
th minute, Ohlwein's attempt was thwarted by the keeper as the score remained the same heading into the second half.
Payton Bates blasted a shot on target at the 55:47 mark, but it was saved.
Lexi Blasberg had a chance to knot the score at the 66:21 mark, but her shot was saved.
Isabella Recalde tallied shots on goal in the 71
st and 79
th minutes, respectively. Ohlwein's shot on target to the right side of the frame was stopped in the 84
th minute of action. With just two minutes to go,
Mikiah Graves rocketed a shot, but it missed high.
For the match, USCA posted 10 shots, including six on goal. Kleman's team had six corner kicks.
Ohlwein led the offense with three shots, including two on goal. Recalde had two shots on goal while Blasberg and Bates had one shot on goal apiece. Graves and Garces posted shots in the loss.
Savannah Yerger played all 90 minutes between the pipes and stopped four shots.
