USCA Takes Down Georgia Southwestern

AMERICUS, Ga. - The USCA women's soccer team posted a 2-0 shutout at Georgia Southwestern Saturday evening.

The Pacers are now 5-3-1 on the season, including 2-2 in PBC play.

Head coach Adam Kleman's team broke through early in the second period. After a scoreless first half, USCA got on the board in the 51st minute. Off a throw-in, Shy Iles flicked the ball to the far post where fellow senior Lexi Blasberg hammered home the shot for the 1-0 lead.

Moments later, Greta Ohlwein extended the advantage to 2-0. She pushed the ball into the box along the right side. She fired the ball and the keeper slowed it down, but it trickled past her for the two-goal margin.

That was more than enough for the stout USCA defense as it posted the team's fourth shutout of the season.

For the match, Savannah Yerger played all 90 minutes between the pipes and stopped all five shots to get the shutout.

Ohlwein had a pair of shots while Reese Agnew, Mikiah Graves, Iles, Blasberg and Hannah DeVincent posted attempts.

Kleman's team had eight shots, including four on goal. The team scored on two of the four shots on frame. USCA earned three corner kicks in the win.

The Pacers return to action Wednesday when they host Lander at 7 p.m. Live stats and video will be available at PacerSports.com.
