MORROW, Ga. – The USCA men's soccer team lost a 3-2 contest at Clayton State Sunday afternoon in a PBC match.
The Pacers are now 5-5-3 on the season, including 3-4-2 in PBC play.
Head coach
Nick Sakiewicz's team trailed 1-0 less than a minute into the match, but the Pacers tied the match at 1-1 in the 38
th minute of action.
Juan Felipe Ruiz blasted an attempt past the keeper, tying the match just moments before halftime.
The Lakers scored a pair of goals within a two-minute span early in the second stanza for a 3-1 advantage. However, USCA continued to push forward.
Davis Scharfeld launched a shot that missed high in the 71
st minute of play.
The Pacers made it a one-goal match at the 85:31 mark when
Alonso Fernandez found
Pablo Corcuera for the score.
USCA earned a pair of corner kicks in the final 90 seconds of action, but
Samuel Mitchell and
Rafael Reno each had shots on goal that were turned away by the keeper.
For the match, USCA had eight shots, including four on goal. Sakiewicz's team earned three corner kicks.
Felipe Mattos played all 90 minutes between the pipes and had six saves.
