AIKEN, S.C. – The USCA men's soccer team lost a 2-0 decision to North Georgia Wednesday evening.
The Pacers are now 5-4-3 on the season, including 3-3-2 in PBC play.
Rafael Kawata recorded a shot that missed just of the frame in the second minute of action. The Nighthawks broke through with a goal in the 11
th minute for a 1-0 edge.
Ayoub Ben Amar's shots in the 17
th and 22
nd minutes of action missed right of the frame.
Nick Sakiewicz's squad had a pair of shots back-to-back, but
Samuel Mitchell and
Frankie Martinez missed high of the crossbar.
Martinez notched a shot on frame at the 34:35 mark, but his attempt was thwarted by the keeper. UNG tallied its second score of the night just before halftime for a two-goal advantage.
In the second period,
Cheikh Atamao blasted a shot in the 57
th minute and Kawata placed a shot that narrowly missed two minutes later.
Mitchell had a pair of shots that missed high as did Ben Amar within a four-minute span.
For the match, USCA tallied 12 shots in the contest, including two on goal. Head coach Sakiewicz's team earned three corner kicks.
Felipe Mattos played all 90 minutes between the pipes and had four saves.
Ben Amar, Kawata and Mitchell had three shots apiece. Martinez totaled two shots while Atamao had one.
