DAHLONEGA, Ga. – The USCA women's soccer team lost an 8-1 decision at North Georgia Saturday afternoon in the PBC opener.
The Pacers are now 0-4-2 on the season and 0-1 in league play. The Nighthawks stand at 5-1 on the year and 1-0 against PBC competition.
UNG had a pair of penalty kicks in the first 5:30 of the match and took a 2-0 lead. In the 11
th minute of action,
Kaydence Moore turned away a shot on goal, keeping it at a two-goal contest.
In the 21
st minute,
Samantha Koneval's attempt was saved by the keeper. At the 20:29 mark,
Mackenzie Cochrane's brilliant shot sailed to the left of the frame.
The Nighthawks tacked on three goals in the waning moments of the half for a 5-0 lead at intermission.
Down 6-0 in the 73
rd minute,
Paige Marshall found Cochrane for the score. Cochrane blasted the ball into the lower left portion of the frame. UNG scored two more goals for the final.
Cochrane had two shots, including one on goal.
Haley Howell recorded a shot on frame as did Koneval while
Avery List and
Mia Duncan each added a shot.
In goal, Moore posted three saves while playing all 90 minutes.
