USCA Adds Davis And Trunnell To Sports Medicine Staff

AIKEN, S.C. – USCA, in conjunction with Associate Athletic Director Brandon Aiken, is excited to announce the addition of Nissa Davis and Brittney Trunnell to his staff.

"I'm looking forward to utilizing their knowledge and skills at USCA," Aiken stated. "They bring in a fresh view along with a positive attitude. Brittney and Nissa will be an asset to the university and our student-athletes will benefit from the individualized care they will provide."

Davis comes to USC Aiken after spending a clinical at Air Force. There, she worked with baseball and assisted with football's spring season. While with the Falcons, Davis rehabilitated back strains and developed a mobility program to assist position players in reducing base soreness and tightness. Davis also has clinical experience with Colorado College where she worked with volleyball, men's lacrosse, swimming and diving and men's ice hockey. Davis has also worked at the University of Colorado, Colorado Springs, with men's basketball, women's basketball and men's soccer.

Davis holds a certification from the National Athletic Trainer's Association. She is also a certified functional strength coach and ACE Certified Personal Trainer. Davis has a degree in exercise science from the University of Colorado, Colorado Springs and a M.S. in Athletic Training.

"I am excited to be part of the team here at USCA and can't wait to have an amazing year with the teams, Brandon, Brittney and the rest of the athletic staff," Davis stated.

Trunnell comes to USC Aiken after spending time at Arizona State. There, she implemented treatments, evaluated injuries, assisted with administrative tasks and equipment set-up and breakdown. While there, Trunnell worked with men's ice hockey and women's water polo. She gained experience working at the University of Portland and the College of the Sequoias. 

Trunnell is a member of the National Athletic Trainers' Association and holds a BOC Certification. She also has her Mulligan Concept Lower Quadrant certificate, HawkGrips IASTM Level I Course certificate, Total Motion Release Therapy certificate, MYK Upper Body, Lower Body, and Autonomic Nervous System Course certificates and Dynamic Release Technique certificate.  

She earned her degree in kinesiology with a concentration in clinical movement science from California State University, Fullerton and recently completed her M.S. In Athletic Training from the University of Idaho.  

"I'm super excited to be a part of the team here at USCA and am looking forward to a great year working alongside Brandon, Nissa and the rest of the athletic department," Trunnell said.

The duo began their duties on August 1.
