Hobson's Homer
Newcomer
Jack Hobson accounted for the team's first round-tripper of the season. In the second game of the series, Hobson crushed a 2-0 pitch over the left field wall in the eighth inning. He drove in
Kaden Usry, who had reached on a full-count walk.
Myers' Knock In The Park
Newcomer Brock Meyers ripped a double to the gap in left center field in the second game of the series. His second-inning double allowed
Dalton Graves and
Jack Hobson to cross home plate for an early 2-0 advantage.
Graves' Good Game
Standout
Dalton Graves turned in a solid performance at the plate against the Braves on Saturday. He rocketed a pair of singles in four at bats. Graves ended up driving in a pair of runs and he crossed home once.
Doing It All
Sophomore
Justin Byrd is a versatile student-athlete and it showed in the series against UNC Pembroke. He batted lead-off and started at shortstop in the first two games of the season. Byrd saw time as the designated hitter while batting second in the series finale. Additionally, Byrd saw his first action on the mound this season and promptly struck out two batters while giving up just one hit over two frames.
Inside The Numbers
This week, the Pacers play at West Florida on Friday, Feb. 9, Saturday, Feb. 10 and Sunday, Feb. 11. Since moving to Division II, the Pacers are 157-111 (58.6 percent) in Friday games, 357-242 (59.6 percent) in Saturday contests and 215-159 (57.5 percent) in Sunday affairs. During the same time, the team is 10-4 on Feb. 9, 10-2 on Feb. 10 and 9-3 on Feb. 11.
