Each week, USCA will post notes.
Postseason Honor
After a stellar match during the PBC Tournament against Flagler, senior
Kaitlyn Rodriguez picked up all-tournament team honors. In the PBC semifinal, Rodriguez notched nine kills, an assist and a career-high 21 digs. The 21 digs also marked a match-high effort.Â
Earning AccoladesÂ
The PBC head coaches voted on PBC accolades recently. Senior
Sadie McKay earned PBC Libero of the Year honors. It marked the eighth time a USCA student-athlete was selected for the accolade. Samantha Lukralle (2010), Danielle Mercer (2016), Rebecca Martinez (2017, 2018, 2019) and
Kari Mercer (2020, 2021) also earned the honor.
All-Conference Performers
Prior to the PBC Tournament,
Emily Lammers and
Sadie McKay garnered all-conference honors. Lammers picked up first-team accolades while McKay notched second-team honors.
Lammers Is Legendary
In the regular-season finale, redshirt-senior
Emily Lammers surpassed the 1,000-kill plateau for USCA. She now has 1,012, which is seventh most during the 25-point rally scoring era in school history.Â
Experienced Team
This year's team features nine student-athletes that are returners from last year's squad. All have experienced tough regional matches – throughout past seasons, during this season and NCAA Tournament competition. Such an experienced team should bode well for head coach
Glenn Cox this year.Â
Been There
USCA makes the return trip to Wingate, N.C., for the NCAA Tournament for the third consecutive season. Two years ago, the Pacers lost a 3-1 decision to the Bulldogs in the opening round. Last year, USCA dropped a 3-2 contest to Anderson.
