AIKEN, S.C. – USCA volleyball standouts Gyöngyvér Araczki and Anna Sommer have been named Academic All-District by College Sports Communicators.

Araczki, a senior from Bekescaba, Hungary, averaged 2.41 points per frame in 2024. She hit a team-best .327 and served up 22 aces. Araczki was second on the squad with 47 blocks. She carries a 3.75 GPA in business administration.

Sommer, a junior from St. Louis, Mo., accounted for 2.51 points per set while hitting .288. She led the team with 60 blocks, including a team-high 13 solo blocks. Sommer spots a 3.71 GPA in exercise and sports science. 

The 2024 Academic All-District® Volleyball Team, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes soccer honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.

To be nominated, a student-athlete must be a starter or important reserve (competed in 90 percent of the matches or have started 66 percent of the matches) with at least a 3.50 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) at his/her current institution. The cumulative grade-point average may NOT be rounded up to 3.50.
