AIKEN, S.C. – The USCA men's basketball team is No. 15 in the latest NABC/Division II Coaches Poll, which was released Tuesday afternoon.
Head coach
Mark Vanderslice's team sits at 3-0 and picked up 135 total points in the poll. After knocking off UNC Pembroke to start the season, the squad bested Catawba and Washington Adventist heading into tomorrow night's home contest against Emmanuel.
Nova Southeastern is at the top of the poll after two full weeks of competition. The Sharks collected all 16 first-place votes and garnered 400 points. West Texas A&M (379 points), MSU Moorhead (369 points), California (Pa.) (334 points) and Washburn (328 points) round out the top five schools.
USCA is paced by
Jalen McCoy's 24 points per game.
Davion Cunningham (18 points) and
Rhyjon Blackwell (13.3 points) are also averaging double digits per contest.
