AMERICUS, Ga. – The USCA men's soccer team lost a hard-fought 1-0 contest at Georgia Southwestern Saturday evening.
The Pacers are now 3-3-2 on the year and 0-3 in PBC play.
Head coach
Nick Sakiewicz's team recorded a shot off the boot from
Sergio Aspas 9:32 into the match.
In the 24
th minute, the Hurricanes scored for a 1-0 advantage.
Blye Brickman entered the match in the 33
rd minute and tallied a shot that sailed left of the frame. USCA earned a corner kick in the 41
st minute, but the squad was unable to post a shot off the set piece.
The score remained at 1-0 entering the second half.
Sakiewicz's squad was aggressive at the outset of the period.
Damian Rogers garnered back-to-back shots during a two-minute span, but both missed the goal.
Jose Rabadan's attempt was well placed to the bottom left of the frame in the 55
th minute, but the keeper managed to make the save.
The Pacers earned a pair of corner kicks in the 73
rd and 74
th minute, respectively, but neither resulted in a shot.
Juan Felipe Ruiz blasted a shot on goal to the lower right of the frame, but it was stopped at the 83:22 mark.
For the match, USCA tallied seven shots, including two on goal. The squad earned four corner kicks in the match.
In goal,
Felipe Mattos played all 90 minutes and had a pair of saves.
Rogers tallied three shots while Rabadan and Ruiz placed shots on goal.
