GREENWOOD, S.C. – The USCA women's soccer team lost a hard fought 3-2 match at Lander Wednesday evening.
The Pacers are now 2-10-2 on the year, including 1-6 in PBC play. The Bearcats stand at 7-1-3 overall and 2-1-2 against PBC foes.

Adam Kleman's team thwarted the first opportunity of the match for Lander as
Kaydence Moore picked up a save in the fourth minute of play. Moore was up to the challenge for the next two shots.
In the 14
th minute of action,
Lexi Blasberg belted an attempt that was saved, keeping the contest scoreless. Eight minutes later, USCA earned a free kick. At the 21:30 mark,
Mackenzie Cochrane found the back of the net after rocketing an attempt to the upper right for a 1-0 lead.
Lander tied the match late in the period and it stayed that way until the second stanza.
With just over nine minutes to play, Lander pushed the score to 3-1. However, Kleman's team continued to push forward. At the 83:29 mark,
Ellie Thompson rocketed a shot to the lower right for her first career goal, making it a one score match.
USCA had one final chance to tie the contest in the waning moments but Thompson's shot in the 89
th minute was saved.
For the match, Thompson and Blasberg had two shots apiece while Cochrane had one. Cochrane and Thompson found the back of the net for scores.
In goal, Moore had nine saves while playing all 90 minutes.
