AIKEN, S.C. – The USCA volleyball team lost a 3-0 decision at Lander Saturday afternoon in a PBC contest.
The Pacers are now 11-3 on the year, including 3-1 in PBC play. The Bearcats stand at 12-3 overall and 2-0 against conference competition.
Set scores were 25-8, 25-19 and 25-16.
Head coach
Glenn Cox's team was led by
Anna Sommer's seven-kill performance. She hit .462 on 13 attacks.
Chloe Duzenack and
Emily Lammers totaled four kills each while
Gyöngyvér Araczki and
Tucker Patterson registered three kills each.
Kaitlyn Rodriguez chipped in two kills while
Alli Bishop and
Tabor Scanlon notched a kill each.
Sidney Hogan dished out 13 assists while Scanlon added seven. Araczki and
Sadie McKay distributed two assists apiece.
Defensively, Araczki and Lammers combined for a block.
Rodriguez led Cox's team with nine digs. McKay added seven digs while Hogan and Scanlon contributed five and four, respectively. Duzenack garnered a pair of digs in the contest.
Down 12-9 in the second stanza, Cox's team embarked on a 5-1 spurt for a 14-13 lead. During the run, Bishop and Rodriguez totaled kills.
Trailing 6-5 in the third frame, Sommer and Lammers hammered home kills. A miscue by Lander made it 8-6. However, the home team took the lead and held on for the win.
