AIKEN, S.C. – The University of South Carolina Aiken men's soccer team lost a 3-0 decision to Lynn Friday evening in the home opener.
The Pacers are now 0-2-1 on the season while the visitors improved to 3-0.
Head coach
Ike Ofoje's team fell behind 1-0 just three minutes into the contest. However,
Tyler Hughes turned away the visitors at the 22:42 mark. Lynn managed to find the back of the net in the 34
th minute for a 2-0 edge heading into intermission.
The Pacers recorded their first shot of the night at the 49:59 mark as
Kadin DeMesme rocketed an attempt on frame but it was thwarted by the keeper.
Down 3-0,
Izan Hernandez ripped a shot that sailed just left of the frame in the 66
th minute.
Jose Rabadan followed it up with a shot in the 73
rd minute that missed the post.
USC Aiken continued to push forward as
Finlay Dyer's attempt sailed right of the goal at the 80:21 mark. A foul in the box with just under five minutes to play allowed the home squad to take a penalty kick, but it was saved by the goalkeeper.
For the match, DeMesme and Denis each had shots on goal for the home squad.
In goal,
Cason Donahue and Hughes each accounted for one save.
