NEWBERRY, S.C. – The University of South Carolina Aiken men's soccer team lost a 4-0 decision at Newberry Tuesday evening.
The Pacers are now 0-1-1 on the season while the Wolves are now 1-0.
The home squad managed to take a 1-0 lead in the 13
th minute of action.
Wynston Johnson unleashed a shot at the 20:23 mark, but it sailed high of the frame. In the 24
th minute of play, Johnson and
Lucas Pegorer each rocketed attempts but both were blocked.
Trailing 2-0 in the 34
th minute,
Hippolyte Denis registered a shot but it missed left of the frame.
Luciano Castro tried to slice the deficit to one at the 38:51 mark but his attempt missed to the right of the goal. The Wolves found the back of the net just prior to halftime for a 3-0 advantage.

Ike Ofoje's team controlled the ball at the start of the second period.
Diego Vega and
Jose Rabadan each tallied shots on frame to the lower right but each one was stopped by the keeper.
Rabadan booted a shot to the lower left in the 63
rd and 73
rd minutes of action but once again he was turned away. Newberry tacked on a goal at the 74:13 mark for the 4-0 tally.
For the match, USC Aiken tallied 13 shots compared to 11 by the home team. Each squad notched six shots on frame.
Individually, Rabadan led the team with three shots – all of which were on goal. Johnson tallied three shots as well. Vega registered two shots on goal while Kaden DeMesme had one shot on frame. Castro, Denis,
Leo Johnson and Pegorer all had one attempt apiece.
Cason Donahue got the start in goal and played 45 minutes.
Tyler Hughes played the final 45 minutes between the pipes and notched a save.
