AUGUSTA, Ga. – University of South Carolina Aiken men's cross country standout Julio Rojas has been named the PBC Runner of the Week, as announced by the league office.

Rojas, a native of Clermont, Fla., guided the Pacers to a third-place finish at the Blue Bear Invitational.

The junior newcomer shattered the school record with his 8k performance. Going against numerous NCAA Southeast Region competitors, he notched a time of 27:17.32.

His effort was good enough for fourth place at the meet. Additionally, Rojas broke the previous school record by over 30 seconds.

In each of the team's first two races, Rojas has been the team's top finisher. 

It marks the first accolade for a USC Aiken men's cross country student-athlete since the program was restarted.
