USC Aiken Hires Laura Horsley

AIKEN, S.C. – University of South Carolina Aiken Assistant Athletic Director Brandon Aiken is pleased to announce the addition of Laura Horsley as an assistant athletic trainer.

"I am thrilled to have Laura on our staff," Aiken stated. "She is a fantastic addition with a wealth of knowledge and experience. I am looking forward to seeing that materialize into the care for our student-athletes."

Horsley, a native of Aiken, S.C., graduated from South Aiken High School in 2004. 
 
Prior to her arrival on campus, she was a Battalion Athletic Trainer at Fort Jackson, S.C., from 2014-2023. There, she was responsible for optimizing health readiness and quality of life for soldiers completing 10 weeks of Basic Combat Training. 
 
Her previous assignments include Clayton State from 2010-2014 as an assistant athletic trainer, Catawba Valley Community College (2009-2010) as an athletic training intern and Lenoir-Rhyne (2008-2009) as an athletic training intern where she was responsible for women's soccer and track and field.
 
Horsley was awarded the 2010 Athletic Trainer of the Year from the Georgia Athletic Training Association. 
 
She has her Bachelor's of Science in Athletic Training from Lenoir-Rhyne (2008). Horsley also has her Master's in Exercise Science and Health Promotion from California University of Pennsylvania (2010). 
 
Horsley is a board certified athletic trainer. She holds certifications from the National Academy of Sports Medicine in Performance Enhancement Specialist and is a state certified athletic trainer for South Carolina.
