Each week, USC Aiken will produce notes. This week, the Pacers close out the regular season with a road game at Columbus State on Wednesday before hosting North Georgia on Saturday.

Recapping Last Week

Last week, the Pacers pushed through two tough games and recorded victories – at No. 15 Augusta and at home against Young Harris. Tehree Horn poured in 29 points while Jalen McCoy added 28 points and 10 boards in the win at Augusta. Four student-athletes netted double figures in the Homecoming victory over Young Harris. 

The Real McCoy

Jalen McCoy continued to thrive. After putting up 20 against Lander on Feb. 4, he responded two games later with another 20-point effort, this time at Flagler. In the road game at Augusta, McCoy poured in 28 points and pulled down 10 boards for his first career double-double. McCoy also swatted three shots in the contest. 

"Man Of The Hour"

After Jalen McCoy dominated the first half against the Jaguars, the Augusta broadcast team called Tehree Horn the "Man of the Hour" during the second half after a block on the break. For the game, Horn led the team with 29 points on 11-of-16 shooting.

Four Of A Kind

Head coach Mark Vanderslice's team put four student-athletes in double figures in the win over the Mountain Lions. Karon Boyd led the balanced attack with 14 points. Jalen McCoy added 13 markers while Tyler Johnson chipped in 11 points. Tehree Horn chimed in with 10 points in the victory. 

KB Is Consistent 

Rookie Karon Boyd has been consistent throughout the season. In the Homecoming victory over the Mountain Lions, Boyd posted a team-best 14 points. He also snagged six rebounds and had a block in the victory. Boyd drained six-of-eight from distance, including two-of-three from the three-point line.

Inside The Numbers

This week, USC Aiken plays at Columbus State on Wednesday, Feb. 22 before having Senior Day on Saturday, Feb. 25 against North Georgia. Since moving to Division II, the Pacers are 139-134 (50.9 percent) in Wednesday games at 227-178 (56.0 percent) in Saturday contests. During the same time, the team is 6-5 on Feb. 22 and 4-7 on Feb. 25.

Against The Opponents

This week, USC Aiken plays at Columbus State on Wednesday, Feb. 22 before having Senior Day on Saturday, Feb. 25 against North Georgia. The Pacers trail the Cougars 35-23 in the all-time series but maintains a 20-8 advantage in the all-time series against the Nighthawks.
