HILTON HEAD ISLAND, S.C. – The University of South Carolina Aiken golf team is in second place after the first day of competition at the Wexford Intercollegiate.
The Pacers shot six-over par, 582, through the first 36 holes of action. Francis Marion leads the field at five-over par, 581. Richmond is third after shooting 10-over par, 586.
USC Aiken shot 293-289 through the first two rounds of action.
Head coach
Michael Carlisle's team was led by
Leonardo Bono and
Erik Olin. The duo each shot even-par, 144, for the day. They are tied for fifth. Olin shot an opening-round 75. However, he registered a team-low three-under par, 69, during the second round. Bono notched an opening-round two-und er par, 70, before shooting two-over par, 74, for the second round.
Oscar Abrahamsson sits in 15
th place after the first two rounds. He shot two-over par, 146. After opening with a two-over par, 74, he carded an even-par, 72, for the second round.
Jonah Winter is 25
th after shooting a four-over par, 148.
