AIKEN, S.C. – The University of South Carolina Aiken golf team is set for the upcoming Wexford Intercollegiate, which is hosted by Francis Marion.
Head coach
Michael Carlisle's team will consist of
Oscar Abrahamsson,
Leonardo Bono,
Karl Frisk,
Erik Olin and
Jonah Winter.
Charleston Southern, Cleveland State, East Carolina, Dayton, Francis Marion, Gardner-Webb, Georgia State, High Point, Mercer, Nicholls State, Presbyterian College, Radford, Richmond, Samford, Temple, Winthrop and Xavier will also be competing at the tournament.
The teams will compete on a par-72, 6,913-yard course. The event starts Monday, Feb. 20 at 8:15 a.m. Day two will also start at 8:15 a.m.
A year ago, Carlisle's team placed sixth at the tournament – just four strokes back from third place.
Olin leads the team this season with a 71.2 stroke average while Frisk sports a 73.0 stroke average. Olin has one top-five finish while Frisk has a top-five effort as well a top-10 finish.
Abrahamsson and Bono each sport a 74.0 stroke average while Winter has a 78.3 stroke average while playing in one tournament.
USC Aiken posted a fourth-place finish at the Irish Creek Invitational, notched a fifth-place effort at the Bearcat Invitational and garnered a sixth-place effort at the Camden Collegiate.
