Leading 8-6 in the first half, Horn hit a free throw at the 15:58 mark. Sixteen seconds later, Johnson found Boyd for a three-ball, giving the visitors a 12-6 edge.

Augusta took the lead at 16-15 and the contest would be a back-and-forth affair for a while in the first stanza. Trailing 22-21, Johnson hit a jumper. McCoy followed it up with a bucket for a three-point edge.

Tied at 33-33, Boyd hit two charity tosses with 4:08 to play before intermission. McCoy and Horn connected on back-to-back baskets for a 39-33 margin. Vanderslice's team held a 47-35 advantage at the break.

The Jaguars chipped away at the margin and took the lead at 66-64 with 8:13 to go in the game. Then, McCoy answered the bell with a jumper with 7:50 to play, knotting the contest once again. That sparked a 13-0 run by USC Aiken – and the Pacers never looked back. During the run, Horn hit a jumper before Rideout scored five straight points. Horn completed the run with a lay-up, making it 77-66 with 5:45 to play.

The high-octane offense continued to thrive. Leading 84-73, Horn took a pass from Rideout and buried a shot from distance with 3:15 to go. Augusta pulled within eight at 87-79 but Johnson quickly answered with a lay-up. Boyd hit two free throws but AU hit a three-point shot to make it 91-82 with 50 seconds to play.

Rideout was fouled and hit two free throws. Then, the Jaguars canned another shot from deep but a technical foul was called on AU and Horn netted the final two free throws for the 10-point victory.
