MORROW, Ga. – The University of South Carolina Aiken men's soccer team dropped a 5-0 contest at Clayton State Wednesday evening.
The Pacers are now 2-11-1 overall, including a 2-7 ledger in PBC play.
Head coach
Ike Ofoje's team was paced by
Jose Rabadan's three shots on goal.
Wynston Johnson posted two shots while
Diego Vega registered a shot on frame.
Parks Harris also tallied a shot on target.
Daniel Ailemen and
Jaymee Kambel each posted a shot in the match.
Down 1-0 in the 23
rd minute, Vega blasted the team's first shot of the night. However, the keeper managed to thwart the attempt.
Rabadan garnered a shot on goal at the 36:59 mark that David Magala was able to save.
Early in the second half, Ailemen and Johnson each tallied shots but they were blocked. At the 57:32 mark, Rabadan's second shot on goal was saved, keeping the contest at 1-0.
The Lakers made it 2-0 in the 61
st minute of action and Rabadan nearly cut the deficit to one just three minutes later but the Lakers' keeper was able to make save.
Down 5-0 late in the match, USC Aiken continued to push forward. Harris rocketed a shot on goal and Kambel narrowly missed his attempt high in the final moments.
For the match,
Cason Donahue recorded eight saves.
For the contest, Ofoje's team tallied nine shots, including five on goal. The squad earned three corner kicks.
