HARTWELL, Ga. – The University of South Carolina Aiken golf team is tied for fifth place with two holes remaining on the first day of action at the Cateechee Fall Invitational.
Head coach
Michael Carlisle's team was led by
Rory McDonald O'Brien, who is currently in 13
th place. With two holes left to play, O'Brien stands at two-under par. He shot an opening-round 68.
Erik Olin is tied for 17th. He is at one-under par for the tournament. Olin shot an opening-round 69.
Oscar Abrahamsson and
Jonah Winter are tied for 33
rd. The two are tied at one-over par. Winter has one hole remaining for the second round while Abrahamsson has two.
North Georgia leads the field. The Nighthawks opened the tournament at 264 and are currently 29-under par. Lincoln Memorial is in second place while Georgia Southwestern rounds out the top three teams at the event. Coker is fourth after shooting six-under par.
USC Aiken is at one-under par and the squad is tied with Carson-Newman in the 20-team field.
The 54-hole event is hosted by Lander.
